Every generation has its baseball icons, players who stand out as the finest of their era. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron – all are considered among the greatest to have ever played the game. When his playing career is over, Albert Pujols will rightfully take his place among these icons. Breaking into the league with the St. Louis Cardinals, Pujols began his career as the unanimous National League Rookie of the Year in 2001.

Over the next 11 seasons with the Cards, Pujols hit 445 home runs, won 3 National League Most Valuable Player awards, 1 National League Batting Championship and 2 home run titles. He was named an All-Star 9 times and played an integral role for both the 2006 and the 2011 World Series Champion Cardinals. Pujols now plays for the Los Angeles Angels, but his accomplishments with the team that made him a star are undeniable. These pair of Nike cleats were worn by Pujols during the 2005 season, Pujols’ first MVP campaign during which he hit 41 home runs and amassed 117 RBI.

These Nike cleats display excellent wear and were made red and gray tanned leather with a padded mesh tongue and foam padded ankle supports. These have hard rubber soles with 12 hard rubber cleats and Pujols’ number “5” is embroidered in red on the gray heels and each cleat has a Dominican flag embroidered on the tongues. The manufacturer’s size tag that is attached to each tongue includes a year code “H04” which indicates that these cleats were manufactured in 2004. According to the game experts at J.T. Sports, images from games in 2005 show Pujols wearing this style cleat. The future Hall of Famer has signed each toe in black marker. These cleats come with a LOA from J.T. Sports with corresponding holograms on the shoes and LOA (1338 – right, 1339 – left), plus an MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ293795) and a STICKER ONLY from PSA/DNA (P26646) for the signatures.
