The Rutgers Scarlet Knights got off to a rocky start in 2008, losing their first three games and dropping to 1-5. Rutgers would rebound in a big way, running off seven straight victories to close out the season at 8-5, including a 29-23 victory over NC State in the Bowl played at Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. It was the program’s third straight bowl victory and a testament to the grit of the team after the slow start.

Presented here is the ring presented to freshman safety Khaseem Greene. Greene, as a junior, would make the switch from safety to linebacker and parlayed his talents into the NFL after being name First-Team All-American, First-Team All-Big East and a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year. Greene was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. This ring is made of Celestrium and was manufactured by the ring makers at Balfour. This size 11 ring has 30 cz stones of varying sizes that surround a red “R” in the center and “RUTGERS” across the “R”. Down the sides of the front is “PAPAJOHNS.COM” on the left and “BOWL CHAMPIONS” on the right. The left shank has “GREENE #49” across the top, the Bowl logo, “29 23” and two helmets with “R” and “S” all in raised relief.
