Chicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Jose Abreu made a splash during his rookie season in 2014 where the rookie phenom earned his first All-Star selection, his first Silver Slugger Award, and was named the American League Rookie of the Year. Abreu wore these cleats during the 2015 season that saw the slugger slash .290 with 178 hits, 30 home runs, and 101 RBI.
Presented here are a pair of size 13 Mizuno cleats worn by Abreu during the 2015 season. The cleats feature a black and gray colorway with the “MIZUNO” logo located on the outstep and instep of the cleat in white. “MIZUNO” appears on the tongue of each cleat in white. The “MIZUNO” logo appears in white on the back of each cleat just above the number “79” in black with white trim. The hard plastic soles feature nine metal cleats attached. Abreu signed and inscribed “#79 2015 GAME USED” on the toe box of each cleat with a silver metallic paint pen. The cleats show excellent signs of game use and feature abrasions on the toecap, and dirt on the soles and cleats. The game used cleats come with STICKERS ONLY from Player Direct (2952-left cleat, 2951-right cleat) and COA’s from JSA (W898778-left cleat, W898779-right cleat).
