Offered in this lot are two game used bats from former player Doug Mientkiewicz and former pitcher Phil Hughes. Mientkiewicz’s bat dates to the 2007 season, his only one with the New York Yankees where he appeared in 72 games, batting .2777 with 2 home runs and 30 RBI. Mientkiewicz used an X-Bat Model KK bat which displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, bat rack streaks and some cleat imprints present on the barrel. There is a heavy coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel and the lower handle has a coating of Mota stick. The knob has Mientkiewicz’s number “11” stamped in black. This bat comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports (35799) for the game use. The second bat in this lot was used by pitcher Phil Hughes during the 2010 season. Hughes’ bat is an Old Hickory J143 model bat that displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are many ball marks, blue ink transfers and black bat rack streaks present on the barrel. There is a moderate coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel. Hughes’ number “65” is handwritten in black marker on the knob. This bat comes with a LOA from Steiner Sports (181656) for the game use.
