Noted sneaker designer Tinker Hatfield created the Nike Air Jordan XIII sneakers. Using Jordan’s nickname “The Black Cat,” Hatfield drew inspiration from the black panther to create a unique sneaker in the Jordan line. These presented Air Jordan XIII sneakers feature a white and gold colorway and have holograms that resemble a panther’s eyes when light is shone on them in the dark on the back upper of the sneakers. The rubber soles are designed in the shape of a panther’s paw and feature red accents on the white rubber soles and a Nike “JUMPMAN” logo encased in plastic on the middle of the sole. A red Nike “JUMPMAN” logo appears on the tongue of each sneaker. The inside tongue of the left sneaker is labeled “THEY CAN’T WIN” in gold on a white swatch, with “UNTIL WE QUIT” in gold on a white swatch on the inside tongue of the right sneaker. “JORDAN” appears labeled in white on gold plastic just above the toe box of each sneaker. Jordan signed the gold outstep of the left sneaker with a black marker. The signature is bold and the sneakers feature evidence of wear on the tongue, soles and toe caps of each sneaker.
