2021 inductee into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Kobe Bryant was a basketball phenom while playing for Lower Merion Senior High School in Ardmore, Pennsylvania. Named Naismith High School Player of the Year, Gatorade’s Men’s National Basketball Player of the Year and a first-team Parade All-American and was named to the McDonald’s All-American team during his senior year in 1996. Bryant participated in the McDonald’s All-American Classic on March 31, 1996 at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Bryant scored 13 points with three assists while playing for an East team that defeated the West 120-105. The All-American Classic was the last amateur game played by Bryant, as the high school standout opted to enter the 1996 NBA Draft.

Presented here is a ticket stub from the March 31, 1996 McDonald’s All-American Classic featuring Bryant’s last amateur appearance. The ticket stub is labeled “1996 MCDONALD’S ALL-AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GAME PITTSBURGH CIVIC ARENA SUN MARCH 31 1996 2:PM” on the midsection of the ticket stub. “LEVEL A SEATING” is labeled on the top of the ticket with “SECTION/AISLE A10 ROW/BOX C SEAT 12 G” and the price of “25.00” on the top of the ticket. The left side of the ticket features an event code, the price, and the seating information. The ticket stub from the 1996 McDonald’s All-American Classic comes encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (53832925) and is graded VG 3.
