For nearly a decade, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal combined their prolific basketball talents to create a Los Angeles Lakers team that dominated the NBA. With Kobe’s ball-handling and shooting skills coupled with Shaq’s ginormous presence in the paint, the two led the Lakers to three consecutive NBA titles from 2000-2002. They created one of the finest championship runs in modern-day basketball.
This beautiful 2017-18 Panini Dominion Franchise Favorites Dual Signatures card showcases two of the finest Hall-of-Fame teammates. Combined they have garnered 23 NBA All-Star Selections, five NBA Finals MVP Awards, and two NBA Player of the Year Awards.
Separately, their autographs would be worthy of owning in their own right, but together this card is a Lakers fan’s dream as Kobe and Shaq brought the NBA Championship back to L.A. after a 12-year drought. When the Lakers reached the Finals during Kobe and Shaq’s run, they dominated. The Lakers defeated the Pacers in six games for their first title, followed up with a five-game win over the 76ers the next year, and swept the Nets for its third consecutive win.
Lakers fans were euphoric as they brought home even more NBA Championships to help make Los Angeles the most decorated franchise in league history – only tied with the Boston Celtics for the most NBA titles (17).
Just 10 copies of this 2017-18 Panini Dominion Franchise Favorites Dual Signatures card exist, with this lot offering the first card in the run, serial numbered 1/10. Both players signed in blue ink, showing off their own styles even with a pen. The card features a white background with Lakers’ purple complementing the design. The bold colors jump off the card and the foil print offers a high-quality look that showcases the value of this impressive card.
