Each card has been graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. 800-card complete Set. Upper Deck’s 1989 Baseball release changed the course of modern trading cards. It also set the tone for Upper Deck’s future baseball card releases, showcasing vivid imagery, glossy stock and high-quality trading cards.
The most famous of the modern trading cards is featured as card No. 1 – Ken Griffey Jr.’s iconic Rookie Card. This lot doesn’t feature just Griffey Jr.’s Rookie Card though, but includes all of the Star Rookies, including Craig Biggio, Sandy Alomar Jr., Randy Johnson, Gary Sheffield, John Smoltz and more.
This lot features a complete 800-card set all graded GEM MT 10 by PSA, a truly challenging feat considering some cards in this release have fewer than five cards ever graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. 1989 Upper Deck Baseball was released in two series in low number (1-700) and high-number (701-800). It included two subsets with Rookie Stars and Collector’s Choice Art cards.
This series ushered in a new era of trading cards. This lot features all 800 1989 Upper Deck Baseball cards in Gem Mint condition.
