Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan first gained headlines when he was named the 1985 NBA Rookie of the Year while playing for the Chicago Bulls during the first of his 15 seasons in the NBA. Jordan’s athleticism and gravity-defying dunks from the free-throw line would make him a household name, but his first of two three-peat NBA titles would make the five-time NBA MVP a legend. The 14-time All-Star won a total of six titles and six NBA Finals MVP Awards while playing for Chicago Bulls teams that dominated the NBA in the 1990s. The 10-time NBA scoring champion and three-time NBA steals leader became the face of the NBA and appeared on 50 covers of Sports Illustrated magazine. Jordan retired from basketball for the third and final time in 2003 and entered the Hall of Fame in 2009.
