Graded EX 5 by SGC. Nineteenth Century baseball activity is interpreted in a whimsical light on the obverse of this extremely rare trade card relic! The piece's sponsor (The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.) sought to capture consumers' attention with this collectible's "F-O-U-L Ball" theme, which shows cartoonish African-American ballplayers at work. The attractive, vintage ad piece – which exhibits detailed lithography – carries boldly printed A&P advertising on its back that targets the Buffalo, New York region. Evidence of circulation on the exceptionally clean card is limited to mild, uniform wear at the corners' tips, and the item features crystal-clear, unimpaired legibility on both sides. A highly engaging and impossibly scarce artifact, in bright Excellent condition.
