Graded 84 NM 7 by SGC. Hall of Famer, in his coveted Rookie Card appearance. Lew Alcindor, one of the most dominating players in basketball history, led UCLA's Bruins to three NCAA Championships and then, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, was the key to several titles in the NBA (most notably with the Los Angeles Lakers). His important debut gum card collectible can be said to have inspired the rebirth of enthusiasm for basketball cards. Included in Topps' 1969/70 "Tall Boy" issue, the item is often cited as the cornerstone of modern collecting. Although very difficult to find in high grade, due to its large size and tendency to display production faults, the offered example is thoroughly commendable. Near Mint condition.
