Graded MINT 9 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card portrayal. Among more than 3,300 copies recorded in PSA's census reporting, fewer than one percent have been placed at this admirable, unqualified tier, and only two examples have been graded higher. Presented is the 1962 Topps, woodgrain-bordered classic collectible depicting then-Chicago Cubs outfielder Lou Brock in his debut, "Star Rookie" appearance. On its fresh cardfront surface, the energy-charged athlete who collected 938 stolen bases and more than 3,000 hits during a 20-year career is shown in portrait as the picture of calm. Crisply colored edges and dramatically square corners are characteristics of this early 60's treasure. The issue's typical print-tracing is completely absent on this copy, and there are no other visual distractions of any kind. The attractive first-year card of Brock is always a keeper, but the extremely high condition level of the offered example makes this one all the more special! Mint condition.
