Thurman Munson was the epitome of a hard-nosed ballplayer. Although never a favorite of opposing fans or his opponents, he always earned the respect of Yankee fans and his teammates. One of the best clutch hitting players ever, he also performed quite well at the other major sports. He was a three sport star in high school and went on to earn all-conference honors in baseball at Kent State. Includes: High School Yearbook - the "Polaris" contains a multitude of photos (over 7 total pages!) including Munson’s senior portrait and photos of him playing football, baseball and basketball. A three sport star! College Yearbook - has several pictures of him as a member of the baseball squad and includes a 45 rpm record on Kent State “The Sounds of KSU” inside the back cover. This is seemingly where he began wearing his trademark No. 15. Both books are without those pesky classmate signatures, are in EX/MT condition, with the scarce Kent State record being NM-MT. The high school book does have two areas where the original owners name appears on top of school name pages.
