Baseball was tremendously popular in the early 1900s, with virtually every town, factory and school fielding their “teams of nine”. Offered are two team photos, both handsomely matted to vintage, thick cardboard backings. Includes: 1902 Concord – Kimball photo measures a robust 11-3/4 x 15-5/8 inches, featuring 11 uniformed players and two suited managers, catcher’s mitt in foreground. Very clean and crisp, but with a tear in upper right. Matting has the team name and year “Concord Baseball Club, 1902” along the bottom with player names printed below their respective images. The town and state, “Concord, N.H.” printed at lower right. Matting measures 16 x 19-7/8 and has areas of missing pieces, several tears and clipped corners. Most of the issue would framed out; 2) P&M – measures 8 x 10.25 inches, crisp and clean with no issue to actual image. The Happy team of 11 is mostly smiling, with typical crossed bats and other equipment in foreground. Matted to a dimension of 11-3/4 x 13-3/4 inches. Beautiful image.
