Graded 50 VG/EX 4 by SGC. Hall of Famer. This enticing and seldom-encountered 1933 Lou Gehrig collectible hails from the Canadian counterpart to the R319 Goudey baseball issue sold in the United States during that same year. (The scarcer and intriguing specialty version of Goudey's "Big League Gum" issue is easily identifiable by the "World Wide Gum Co., Ltd." branding found on this item's reverse.) A perfectly clear rendering of Gehrig's universally appreciated, smiling portrait appears on the obverse of this delightful relic, and the card's mildly toned, bilingual-text back is likewise clean and boldly printed. Light wear to the corners has not meaningfully disrupted their shape, and the card's overall aesthetic is wholly satisfying. The cardfron't image alignment is toward the bottom edge. A low-production and minimally distributed rarity depicting an American baseball hero, in smile-evoking Very Good to Excellent condition.
