Graded NM 7 by PSA. In 1907, an 18-year-old Fred Merkle played his first Major League game at the tender age of 18. He was still the youngest player in the National League, and used mostly as a pinch hitter, at the time of his infamous base-running "boner" in 1908. Merkle played several more years after this pleasing collectible's release, putting in service with a variety of big league and minor league teams. This period relic recalling Merkle presents nicely, putting forth stain-free surfaces and boasting a remarkable paucity of evidence-of-handling faults. Admirable Near Mint condition.
