This incredible World Series press pin collection, which spans the years 1963-2010, contains 53 press pins and issued pendansts, including a complete run from 1986 through 1999. Beginning in the 1910s, the newly organized Baseball Writers Assocation began the tradition of issuing lapel pins to member sof the media to better help them gain access to the media press box during the World Series game. Members of the press and special dignitaries were given these pins to allow easy access to press areas not intended for the public, but now the tradition continues, but the pins are more keepsakes than all access passes. World Series press pins have always been a popular field of collecting and this is a great start to beginning your collection. The overwhelming majority of the pins range in grade from EX/MT to MINT, with most of the newer pins practically unused MINT condition. All feature their threaded or needle-post backs and are complete with their original fasteners. Pins are listed by year with team noted.
