Graded by PSA NM-MT 8. Offered is a 2003 Topps Chrome Refractor #36 Kobe Bryant card which depicts the Hall of Fame Los Angeles Lakers forward in mid-air as he's driving to the basket in his purple Lakers road uniform on the front. Bryant's career statistics appear on the back side of the card.
Bryant and the 2003-2004 Lakers finished the NBA season with a 56–26 overall record, good enough to clinch the second seed in the Western Conference en route to the playoffs. In the playoffs, they defeated the Houston Rockets, the defending champion San Antonio Spurs, and the Minnesota Timberwolves to earn the franchise its 28th appearance in the NBA Finals. The Lakers entered the Finals against the Detroit Pistons as favorites. This was the third meeting between the Lakers and the Pistons in the NBA Finals, after both franchises met in 1988 and 1989, with each winning in both years respectively. However, the underdog Pistons' strong defense and teamwork propelled them to their third championship in franchise history, and the star-studded Lakers would collapse in five games. In that series, Bryant averaged 22.6 points per game and 4.4 assists while shooting 35.1 percent from the field. This card has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (47196181), which has graded the card NM-MT 8.
