At one time, mini bats were sold at the various major league stadium souvenir stands, sometimes in five and dime stores and were widely collection by young baseball fans. Bats were produced in several sizes, and produced with individual player names, teams and special events such as the World Series and other league events. This collection includes two dozen mini bats, with most bats 16 inches in length, plus a few other sizes duly noted and most are EX to EX/MT with a few lesser and a couple nicer. Includes: Kren’s Specials – Eight Kren mini bats, made in Syracuse, NY Used by many Hall of Famers, the Joseph Kren Bat Co. went out of business in the early 1950s. Most have “Kren’s Special” on the barrel. Team Bats – 2 bats w/Cleveland Indians and Dallas Eagles (22 inch, 1950s Texas League). Player Bats – 10 w/Pepper Martin, Hank Greenberg, Joe DiMaggio (EX/MT), Dizzy Dean (22 inch), Mickey Medwick (22 inch), Stanley Hack, George Kell, Chas. Gehringer, Al Schacht (N.Y. City), Johnny Mize. Miscellaneous – 2 bats w/1952 Minor League Meeting and 1940s “Reg’lar Fellers” Bob Feller sponsored equipment bat. Cooperstown – 3 bats including two with Hall of Fame emblem and one with “Home of Baseball.” Total of 23 bats.
