The New York Mets dropped a heartbreaking seven game series to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2006 NLCS, denying the franchise its first World Series appearance since 2000. This rare collection of equipment items was used during New York’s 3-1 loss to the Cardinals during that Oct. 19 loss at Shea Stadium. Included is a heavy duty blue Mets baseball bag with zipper top and orange handles, accompanied by a prominent Mets logo on the face of the item. The bag itself shows moderate signs of wear, including expected staining and scuffing given the nature of its type of usage. Inside the ball bag is a black Velcro pouch and a series of other contents, including two rosin bags, a bat weight ring, a Kubota Slugger Grip Guard Spray Can, a Cramer Tape Adherent Spray Can and a heavily stained pine tar stick with Mets logo. Every item shows heavy signs of use from a team that included stars such as David Wright and Carlos Beltran. The items come with an LOA from Steiner Collectibles and each is accompanied by a holographic sticker. The equipment bag also comes with MLB Authentication number “BB339976.”
