With a superb pitching staff that included the one-two punch of Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale the 1965 and 1966 Los Angeles Dodgers one back-to-back National League pennants, winning the ‘65 World Series over the Minnesota Twins and losing the ’66 Series to the Baltimore Orioles. This pair of team-signed balls from two stories years in Dodgers’ franchise history. The 1965 Spalding Official National League Warren Giles ball, stored in a plastic cube, contains 10 signatures including manager Walter Alston on the sweet spot, as well as Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Wally Moon, Jim Gilliam, Lou Johnson, Ron Fairly, Don Drysdale, Maury Wills and Wes Parker. All signatures appear to be in black ballpoint pen and extremely fading from the ball’s slick off-white finish. The 1966 Spalding Official National League Warren Giles ball, kept in a round plastic holder, contains 21 signatures with manager Walter Alston’s again on the sweet spot and also includes: Don Drysdale, rookie Don Sutton, Willie Davis, Tommy Davis, Jim Brewer, Al Ferrara, Lou Johnson, Phil Regan,Wes Parker, Ron Fairly, Willie Dick Schofield, Jim Lefebvre, Tommy Davis, John Roseboro, Jeff Torborg, Dick Stuart, Bob Miller, John Kennedy, Ron Perranoski, Maury Wills and coach Preston Gomez. Signatures are all in blue ballpoint pen and the ball is stored in covered with a heavy coat of shellac, “LA Dodgers 1966” has been written on the ball in red marker. Lot has been pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
