Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer. "Piedmont - 350 Subjects/Factory No. 25" back. Among more than 460 comparably categorized examples recorded in PSA's census reporting, just five copies have been placed at this standout level, and none has been graded higher. Tris Speaker was just beginning to make his presence known in baseball circles when this card was produced. Since he was a relative unknown at the time, with barely one full season under his belt, this is Speaker's sole representation in the T206 set. (This, even though most of his future Cooperstown colleagues appeared in two, three or even four poses. Had the series been issued a couple of years later, there undoubtedly would have been Speaker Portrait and Fielding poses conceived, as well.)
Here is an unusually high-demand T206 Hall of Fame-enshrined subject, presented on a praiseworthy collectible. This Speaker commemorative's cardfront is notably bright from every perspective. The illustration's coloring and the whiteness of its borders are superb, and the piece's back promenades a very clean , "Piedmont - 350 Subjects" advertisement rendered in light blue. A fantastic potential addition to the finest T206 assembly, in Near Mint to Mint condition.
