Presented here is a check for $431.70 to State Farm signed and drawn from the personal Wells Fargo account of late Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett. Puckett played his entire 12-year Major League Baseball career as a center fielder for the Minnesota Twins (1984–1995), and is the Twins' all-time leader in career hits, runs, and total bases. At the time of his retirement, Puckett’s .318 career batting average was the highest by any right-handed American League batter since Joe DiMaggio. Puckett was the fourth baseball player during the 20th century to record 1,000 hits in his first five full calendar years in Major League Baseball and was the second to record 2,000 hits during his first 10 full calendar years. The check features Puckett’s signature in black ink and features his then-address, the date of 12/27/04, and typical cancellation and other markings found on a cleared check. The check from Kirby Puckett’s personal account to State Farm signed by the Hall of Famer has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA (83910475) and is graded Authentic.
