It was on June 8, 1969 when the Yankee held Mickey Mantle Day at Yankee Stadium, formally retiring his No. 7. Mantle became the fourth player to have his number retired by the Yankees, following Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Joe DiMaggio. This 7” x 9” vintage wire photo shows Mantle touching his “active” jersey for the last time. Light edge wear, a corner wrinkle and light crease along bottom.
