Hanging around the batting cage pre-game, Mickey Mantle is shown balancing his bat on his fingertips. Mantle was crushing American League pitching early in the season on his way to winning the Triple Crown. This 7” x 8.5” photo appears to be trimmed along bottom edge, and contains original newspaper caption portion on reverse, with various date stamps and editor pencil markings.
