With “The Captain” set to retire following the 2014 season, the New York Yankees will undoubtedly have a monstrous hole to fill both at shortstop and in the clubhouse in the coming years. Derek Jeter has led the Bronx Bombers to five World Series titles during his career and is hoping to go out with a sixth in his farewell season. This signed black Rawlings “PRODJ2” baseball glove is an exact model of the one worn by Jeter. Jeter’s signature appears in bold, silver Sharpie across the ring finger on the inside of the deer tanned cowhide glove, which is designed to be worn on the left hand. “Derek Jeter” is stitched in white scripted writing on the outside of the glove down the thumb, while a silver graphic depicting Jeter with the phrase “Turn 2” appears on the palm of the glove. A patch on the outside pinky of the glove reads “THE GOLD GLOVE CO.” (Jeter has won five of them), while a silver Rawlings logo appears on the inside wrist with an “Oil-Treated Leather” stamp alongside. The glove is certified by MLB Authentication with verification number “T000018630” and has a holographic Steiner Sports certification sticker.
