Presented is a 587-card complete set of 1961 Topps baseball cards. In total, 41 cards have been graded by PSA. In 1961, the baseball fans of a generation ago were lucky enough to experience a home run race similar to what baseball witnessed in 1998. Maris and Mantle went toe to toe, trading homer for homer through the season, in a fashion similar to the more recent exploits of McGwire and Sosa. As the titanic chase progressed, eager young collectors gobbled up handfuls and packfuls of cards looking for their elusive heroes. Fortunately for the Mantle faithful, they were treated to a gradual array of treasures as the Mick's picture was featured on no less than five cards in this production. The presentation of this set is consistent with that seen many arrays of 1961 Topps: plenty of razor-sharp corners with occasional print defects and centering variances. Condition is mostly EX/MT to NM with some nicer (balance is lesser).
