The centerpiece of the New York Mets since 2005, seven-time All-Star third baseman David Wright has been a consistent bright spot for a franchise that looks to be on the rise in the NL East. Wright, a two-time Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winner, wore this black-and-blue batting helmet during a 2011 campaign that saw the face of the Mets register 99 hits in 102 games. The batting helmet shows moderate evidence of game use, including staining on the brim likely from Wright adjusting the helmet with his batting gloves, and has several scuff marks scattered about. “WRIGHT” appears in white type on small label stickers on the edge of the brim and back of the size 7 1/4 helmet. The inside of the helmet features three pads --- on the left ear, back and top --- and a black padded band that starts at the forehead and continues along both sides to the rear. A “Rawlings Authentic ON FIELD EQUIPMENT” manufacturer’s tag appears on the inside of the helmet, as does a “MLB Authentic Collection” holographic sticker with number “AD055395603.” The game used helmet comes with a COA from the New York Mets.
