Probably one of the better Yankees and baseball players during his time that people don’t think of often, shortstop Phil Rizzuto won seven World Series Championships with the Yankees and played in five All-Star games and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994. Rizzuto would go on to enjoy a 40-year career as a radio and television sports announcer for the Yankees. Known for his idiosyncratic style and conversational digressions that would entertain listeners, his dynamic play-by-play calling brough a distinct liveliness to his broadcasting, with his trademark expression “holy cow!” becoming a part of baseball’s lexicon. Presented here is Phil Rizzuto’s cut signature on a 3 x 5-inch photograph. The cut features a lower half image of what is presumably Rizzuto and contains his signature and inscription “Holy Cow HOF 94” in blue marker across the cut. The signature and inscription are bold, and the signed cut comes encapsulated and authenticated by SGC (AU003272) and is graded AUTHENTIC.
