Graded Mint 9 by PSA. Rookie Card. Hall of Famer. It was the card that shifted the modern hobby world. Upper Deck burst onto the baseball card scene with its first release and collectors flocked to the set that featured beautiful imagery, glossy fronts, and an innovative hologram on the backs of cards in order to prevent counterfeiting. The card baseball fans all wanted was right on top – Card No. 1, Ken Griffey Jr.
This gorgeous example showcases The Kid with his adoring smile – the future was bright for this Hall of Famer. The card is well-centered, features sharp corners and impeccable lines. The design invokes nostalgic feelings all these years later as this set was many collector’s first foray into the hobby.
