Josh Johnson, the hard-throwing, 6-foot-7 right-hander, officially put Major League Baseball on notice in 2009 when he went 15-5 with 3.23 ERA and 191 strikeouts while making the NL All-Star team with the Florida Marlins. Johnson wore this white, button-down jersey against the Houston Astros on Aug. 10, 2009, a day after pitching the Marlins to a 12-3 win over the Phillies that saw his record improve to 11-2. The Johnson jersey shows evidence of light use, including what appears to be tobacco stains down the front of the piece. “MARLINS” appears across the chest, with “JOHNSON” across the back and his number “55” on both sides, all in black on silver-and-teal tackle twill. A Marlins logo patch is stitched on the left sleeve with a “Majestic” logo stitched in black below. The front tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s tag with a white stitched strip tag below that reads “55 54 09 427,” indicating Johnson’s number, the jersey size, year and set number. The jersey is certified by MLB Authentication number “LH291419.”
