Creighton Miller was an All-American halfback at Notre Dame, playing for legendary coach Frank Leahy in the early 1940s. He is the seventh man from his family who played for the Fighting Irish, including his father Harry, who played in 1908. His uncle, Don Miller, was one of the legendary Four Horseman running backs of the Knute Rockne 1924 National Champions. After his college career, Miller became a lawyer, and started the NLFPA in 1956. During the 1942 season, Miller rushed for 151 yards vs. Northwester, a Notre Dame record until 1974. A ticket from that game is included. During the 1943 season, Miller was First Team All-American, leading the nation in rushing with 911 yards, and was fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting. This collection of five game tickets, one travel pass and a sideline pass were personally owned by Creighton Miller and used during his time at Notre Dame. All tickets have some paper on reverse due to being affixed at one time into an album. Includes: GAME TICKETS – 1) 1942 October 10 vs. Stanford at ND Stadium, a 27-0 victory. 2) 1942 November 21 vs. Northwestern, Miller’s record breaking game. 3) 1943 October 2 vs. Georgia Tech, a 55-13 victory. 4) 1943 October 30 vs. Navy, a 33-6 victory. 5) 1943 November 20 vs. Iowa Navy Flight School, a 14-13 victory. SIDELINE PASS – a bell shaped pass for 1943 Georgia Tech game of above ticket, “Timmie’s” written in ink on front (GD). TRAIN PASS – an October 12, 1941 train pass for “C. Miller” for a “ND 1” Pullman car. This game was a 20-0 Notre Dame win over Georgia Tech. (FR). Total of seven personal items owned by former Notre Dame All-American halfback Creighton Miller.
