Billy Sunday was a famous baseball player who played for the Chicago White Stockings in the 1880s, who found religion and began a long career as the most influential preacher of the early 20th Century. His wife, Helen, also was influential in the preacher movement, even more so after Billy Sunday died in 1935. This 5” x 7.5” sheet of paper has a recipe for “Oatmeal Cookies” and is signed below in very bold blue ink “Helen A. Sunday” and “W.A. Sunday” the usual way Billy signed his name. The recipe has two folds, neither which interfere with the perfect (“10”) signatures. The signed item is adhered to an approximate 9” x 11.75 inch paper matting. This item presents well and is ready for framing. Signed Billy Sunday items are few and far between, but combined with his wife’s signature, this item becomes more compelling. LOA from PSA/DNA.
