When the New York Knicks won the lottery in 1985 and won the rights to the first overall pick in the draft, there really wasn’t any surprise which player they were going to pick. There would have been no surprise either if the Indiana Pacers or Los Angeles Clippers won that first ever draft lottery. The pick was Patrick Ewing, the dominant defensive oriented center of the Georgetown Hoyas. Ewing ended up being the exact player the Knocks needed, and he was the cornerstone for multiple runs to the NBA Finals. This jersey was worn by Ewing during the 1993-94 season, which saw his Knicks lose in the NBA Finals to the Houston Rockets in a great seven game series. This white mesh, road jersey has “NEW YORK” across the chest with this number “33” below, while the reverse features his name “EWING” across the back with the number “33”. All lettering is directly stitched in orange-on-blue tackle twill except the name which is all blue. The first No. 3 on the front is boldly signed “Patrick Ewing” in black Sharpie. The lower front tail has two Champion tags, the first being the size “48” tag, and the second the “1993-94” year tag with “BODY LENGTH +6”. Patrick Ewing was the face of the New York Knick franchise during their great run in the late 80s – mid 90s, with this jersey worn during their greatest season during that time frame. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Full LOA from Dave Miedema, noted sports jersey expert.
