Encapsulated and assessed "Authentic" by SGC. Hall of Famer, in his Rookie Card appearance. Ownership of a '48 Bowman Mikan card is an aspiration of virtually all basketball card collectors! In addition to his placement on a very scarce, "High Number" card in the modern era's most prized and important series, Mikan is recognized as one of the earliest players who permanently changed the game of basketball. He was also one of his sport's first true superstars, as well as the game's trail-blazing "big man" – an athlete who towered over his opponents. Mikan's participation required that the rules of basketball be redefined, just to accommodate his unique talents. This card's obverse image is clean and sports a bold, blue background. The corners concede generally routine wear, and slight irregularity can be seen in the top- and bottom-edge border cuts. A scarce collectible, projecting satisfying aesthetic appeal.
