Offered in this lot are two letters, one typed and one hand written, by Eve Williamson to Michael Jordan’s father James Jordan in 1987. Williamson, at that time, was the Executive Director of The North Carolina Museum of History Associates. The first letter, dated May 28, 1987, deals with the potential procurement of Jordan’s 1984 Olympic uniform for display. The typed letter reads in part: “I enjoyed talking with you last week about borrowing Michael’s Olympic uniform, and I hope you were able to find it at home or with Michael. As I said, we would be happy to arrange to have someone pick it up so that you would not have to risk mailing it. Also, we would very much like to borrow your picture of Michael giving you his gold medal. You can rest assured that we will take extra special care of these treasures. Our exhibit cases are alarmed and we have guard staff.”

The second letter was handwritten in black and dated June 4, 1987 reads in part “Since I have not been able to find one of our members to come to Lake Norman, I am planning to come myself. It will be my privilege to meet you. I don’t know how you can contain your pride in having such a wonderful athlete and fine gentleman for a son. He is certainly a reflection of you.” These are a unique collection of Michael Jordan –themed content.
