Few things in Major League Baseball are as thrilling as a home run, and these two presented bats in this lot are signed by two of the greatest home run hitters to ever step up to the plate, Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire. The first item in this lot is a 33 ½ -inch Rawlings Adirondack “Big Stick” bat signed by the 11th highest home run hitter in Major League history, Mark McGwire. The bat features a Rawlings “R” logo stamped in black on the lower barrel of the bat. “BIG STICK MARK MCGWIRE PROFESSIONAL MODEL” is stamped in black on the barrel of the bat. McGwire, famous for breaking Roger Maris’ record of 61 home runs in a single season with 70 during the 1998 season, is number 11 on the MLB Career Home Run hitters list with 583 home runs during a career that spanned 16 seasons with the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals. McGwire, the 1987 AL Rookie of the Year, won two World Series titles and was the NL RBI leader in 1999. The five-time MLB home run leader McGwire signed the barrel of the limited-edition, number 17/500 bat with a blue marker. The bat is in excellent condition with the gloss of the bat still intact and no bleeding of the signature. The second item in this lot is a 33 ½ -inch Rawlings Adirondack bat signed by the MLB all-time home run leader, Barry Bonds. Bonds, the seven-time NL MVP and two-time NL batting and home run champion, broke the single-season home run record with 73 home runs during the 2001 season. The bat features a black Rawlings “R” stamped on the lower end of the barrel and is labeled “BIG STICK BARRY BONDS SAN FRANCISCO” on the barrel of the bat in black. The 14-time All-Star 1993 NL RBI leader signed the barrel of the bat with a blue marker. The bat is in pristine condition and the gloss on the bat still shines bright. The signed Big Stick model bat comes with a COA from Steiner Sports and a Barry Bonds Authenticated sticker.
