This lot includes a batting glove and a helmet used by New York Mets ace Dwight Gooden during the 1985 season. Gooden’s 1985 campaign was one of the most dominant of all-time, with the young ace winning the Cy Young award on the back of a 24-4 record, 1.53 ERA, 268 strikeouts, and eight shutouts. The batting helmet shows heavy use and has been signed by Gooden on the brim in silver marker. Gooden has signed the batting glove in blue marker on the top of the hand, inscribing “Game Used 1985” in addition to his signature. This helmet comes with a LOA from JT Sports and a LOA from JSA.
