Offered here are two items relating to the early days of the FBI. The first item in this lot is a wanted poster offering $10,000 for the capture of notorious gangster John Dillinger, and $5,000 for information leading to his arrest. This poster is dated June 25th, 1934, less than a month before Dillinger was shot and killed outside of a Chicago movie theater. This poster measures 8.5 x 11 inches. Also in this lot is a check signed by Melvin Purvis and dated to November 13th, 1951. Purvis has signed this check, which has several holes punched in it, in black pen. This check has been encapsulated and Purvis’ signature graded a MINT 9 by PSA/DNA (84064317).
