Ken Griffey Jr. saved baseball in Seattle. A young franchise that had been struggling for a dozen years to find a true cornerstone player, the Mariners parlayed Griffey’s popularity and skill to build a new stadium and remained in Seattle. Over his 22 year MLB career, Griffey hit 630 home runs and collected 2,781 hits. Griffey was elected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility, earning a record 99.3% of the vote.
Offered in this lot is a Rawlings Adirondack bat signed by Griffey and an Official American League Bobby Brown baseball, also signed by Griffey. Griffey signed the bat on the barrel in black Sharpie.
