Offered here are three Official Major League Robert D. Manfred Jr. baseballs used during New York Mets games in 2016. The first two balls were used during the Mets game on April 15th against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. The first ball was pitched by Cody Anderson to Yoenis Cespedes in the top of the first inning, with Cespedes lashing the ball into center field for a single. The second ball was used during the top of the fifth, with Anderson still on the mound. Anderson pitched this ball to young Mets star Michael Conforto, who reached base on an infield single. Cespedes, next batter, drove in Conforto with a two-run shot to center. The Mets would go on to win this contest 6-5.
The final baseball in this lot was used during the Mets 5-4 loss in 11 innings to the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Bartolo Colon threw this ball in the dirt during Peter Bourjos’ second inning at-bat before it was removed from play. Each ball in this lot comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 368115, JB 368125, JB 041760).
