Offered here is a collection of three game used items from the career of New York Mets manager Davey Johnson. The first item is a pair of Johnson’s gray road pants from the 1988 postseason. The Mets won 100 games in 1988 and appeared in the National League Championship Series, where they fell in seven games to the Los Angeles Dodgers. These pants, which come with Johnson’s belt, are gray with a Mets-colored racing stripe running down each leg. A Rawlings tag and a “5 Johnson 88 P.O. 37 27” swatch are sewn on the back inside waistband. Johnson has signed the right leg in blue marker and inscribed “Game Used 1988 Playoffs”. The next item in this lot is a blue size “7 1/4” Mets cap with an orange Mets logo on the front. Johnson’s number “5” is written on the underside of the brim in black marker. Johnson has signed the brim of this cap in silver marker and inscribed “Game Used”. Finally, a blue satin Mets Starter jacket worn by Johnson in included. A Mets logo is sewn on the left chest and “JOHNSON” is sewn across the back of the jacket in orange and white. A Starter size “L” tag is sewn on the back inside collar. Johnson has signed the jacket in silver marker and inscribed “Game Used”. The entire lot comes with a JSA LOA (Z87940) and a LOA from noted game used expert Dave Miedema.
