Presented here is a collection of game used and signed catcher’s gear from two-time All-Star and 1969 World Series champion Jerry Grote. The veteran backstop played 16 years in the Bigs, including 12 with the New York Mets. Included in this lot are two Rawlings shin guards, each signed in slightly faded black marker by Grote, as well as a catcher’s mask signed in silver marker by the Texas native. Finally, an orange Rawlings chest protector signed by Grote in black marker and inscribed “’69 W.S. Champs” is included in this lot. Each item has a COA from JT Sports for game use and an individual COA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signatures.
