Running back Tom Matte was an integral part of the Baltimore Colts successes early on in the Super Bowl era, with his outstanding performance in a losing effort in Super Bowl III and as a member of the Super Bowl V championship squad. He also served as part of the Baltimore Ravens radio broadcast team from 1996-2005. The strong football legacy in the city honors its past heroes to this day, as is evidenced by this lot of (3) presentation footballs given to Matte by the city’s remaining football franchises. Included here is an Official Wilson NFL football stamped with a Baltimore Ravens logo and reading “Baltimore Final Game on 33rd Street Tom Matte” commemorating the Baltimore Ravens final game at Memorial Stadium, a painted Super Bowl XXXV ball with “Tom Matte * Ravens 34 Giants 7 * January 28, 2001” written in purple around a Ravens Super Bowl XXXV 10th Anniversary sticker, and a painted Wilson USFL football that reads “Presented to Tom Matte Baltimore Stars 1985 USFL Champions”. The Ravens “Final Game” ball and the Super Bowl XXXV Anniversary ball have each been signed and inscribed “Tom Matte Baltimore Colts #41” in black marker, while the USFL ball reads simply “Tom Matte”, also in black. Each of the three signed footballs comes with a signed player LOA from Tom Matte.
