The New York Yankees have only a very select few players in franchise history that have ever been deemed as “Captain”.  These four baseballs consist of a mixture of Yankees Captains, Coaches and All-time greats.  The first baseball in the grouping is an Official American League Gene A. Budig baseball and has been signed by four Yankees Captains Graig Nettles, Willie Randolph, Don Mattingly, and Ron Guidry.  The four have signed in blue ball point pen and have also added the Inscription “Yankee Captain” with the years they were honored with the title.  The Nettles and Randolph signatures have faded but the Mattingly and Guidry remain bold.  Overall this is a unique ball that could easily have Derek Jeter added to it and be kept around for the next Yankee to be appointed Captain.  The second ball in the group is an Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseball with five Yankee Captains signatures including Derek Jeter, Ron Guidry, Graig Nettles, Don Mattingly, and Willie Randolph.  This baseball is white with mid to high grade signatures.  The third baseball is also an Alan Selig ball with five signatures of Yankees coaches including Joe Torre, Yogi Berra, Whitey Herzog, Lou Piniella, and Willie Randolph.  The baseball is overall in excellent condition. The fourth and final baseball in this group coming from the collection of Willie Randolph includes a nice trio Derek Jeter, Joe Torre and Alex Rodriguez which all can be presented at the same time when displayed.  The signatures are all bold and high grade and the baseball is nearly flawless.  These three baseballs come from the collection of Willie Randolph who has provided a signed LOA and this lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
