Pete Rose, Hall of Famers Mike Schmidt, and Tony Perez were a crucial part of the Philadelphia Phillies 1983 season that saw the Phillies win the National League pennant en route to facing the Baltimore Orioles in the 1983 World Series, losing to the Orioles in five games. This presented lot of four game model bats features signatures from Rose, Perez and Schmidt.

The first item in this presented lot is a 34 1/8-inch Louisville Slugger M110 game model bat signed by Hall of Fame infielder Tony Perez. Perez was a member of the Cincinnati Reds “Big Red Machine” teams that dominated the MLB in the 1970s. Perez was a seven-time All-Star and won three World Series titles who knocked in more than 100 RBI per season from 1970-1976 and gained entry into Cooperstown in 2000. “125 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” and “Powerized” are stamped on the barrel of the bat in black. “GENUINE M110” and “LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” are stamped on the top of the barrel in black with a “TONY PEREZ” facsimile signature in black. Perez signed the barrel of the bat with a black marker. The signature displays minoor bleeding and the bat has some scratches and black marks on the barrel.

The second and third items in this lot are two Louisville Slugger S2 game model bats signed by “Charlie Hustle” Pete Rose. Rose, a noted switch hitter and the MLB all-time leader in hits, earned 17 All-Star appearances at five positions, played an integral role in the Cincinnati Reds “Big Red Machine” teams that dominated the MLB in the 1970s. Rose won three World Series titles, two with the Reds and one with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980. These presented 34-inch wooden game model bats feature “125 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” and “Powerized” stamped on the bottom of the barrel of the bat in black. “GENUINE S2 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER” is stamped in black on the top of the bat with the facsimile Pete Rose signature on the top of the barrel. Rose signed and inscribed the barrel of each bat with “Best Wishes” and “Good Luck” with a black marker. The signatures and inscriptions are bold and the bat features no abrasions or markings.

The fourth item in this lot is a 35-inch “Big Stick” 302 Adirondack game model bat signed by the greatest third baseman in MLB history, Mike Schmidt. Schmidt, a 12 time All-Star, played all of his 18 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies where he won the World Series with the team in 1980. The eight-time NL Home Run leader hit 548 home runs during this career and led the NL in RBI four times. Known for being one of the best defenders of the hot corner, Schmidt earned 10 Gold Glove Awards and was enshrined in Cooperstown on the first ballot in 1995. The presented bat features “302 ADIRONDACK PRO RING” stamped in black on the barrel of the bat. “BIG STICK” and “FLAME TREATED” appear stamped in black with a facsimile Schmidt signature on the barrel of the bat. Schmidt signed the barrel of the bat with a black marker. The signature displays some bleeding and the bat is in good condition. This entire lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
