Offered is a collection of Cal Ripken Jr. game used equipment and two baseballs originating from Baltimore’s contest against the Kansas City Royals on August 9th, 2001. This was Ripken’s final game at Kauffman Stadium, with the Orioles falling 6-4 to the home team. Ripken hit sixth in the order and started the game at third base. Included in this lot are a pair of black and white socks, a pair of black wristbands with “8” and a Nike swoosh embroidered in orange, a size 7 ? Orioles cap, two Official Major League Allan H. Selig baseballs, and a pair of white baseball pants. Sewn on the back inside waistband of the pants is a Majestic tag and a “8 Ripken 38-40 37 01” swatch. Ripken retired after the 2001 MLB season and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. These come directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. with a signed LOA from Cal accompanying this lot.
