Offered here are seven game used and/or signed bats from members of the Houston Astros in the 1980’s. The first bat was used by Derek Bell during the 1998 season. Bell’s KC Slammer PRO XL model bat displays moderate to heavy game use and has a crack on the handle. Bell’s number “14” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and top barrel. Bell has signed his name in black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18922) for the game use. The second bat was used by Richard Hidalgo during the 1997-98 seasons. Hidalgo’s Louisville Slugger C243 model bat displays heavy game use and has a crack on the handle. Hidalgo’s number “15” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob in black marker. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18919) for the game use. The next bat is an additional Richard Hidalgo bat that was used during the 2000 season. Hidalgo’s Louisville Slugger R221 model bat has a labeling period of 1999 but was used in 2000 and displays moderate to heavy game use with a crack on the handle. Hidalgo’s number “15” has been handwritten in black marker on the knob. Hidalgo signed his name in black marker on the barrel.

The next bat was used by Moises Alou during the 1998 season. Alou’s Rawlings 456b model bat displays moderate game use and has a crack on the handle. Alou’s number “18” is handwritten in black marker on the knob and top barrel. Alou has signed his name in black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18920) for the game use. The next bat in this lot is a Louisville Slugger P72 model bat used by Bill Spiers in the 1996-97 seasons. This bat displays moderate game use and is un-cracked. There is checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the back barrel. Spiers signed his name in black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18921) for the game use.

The next bat is a Louisville Slugger S329S model bat used by John Cangelosi during the 1995-96 seasons. Cangelosi’s bat displays moderate game use and is un-cracked. There is slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact on the front barrel. Cangelosi’s number “27” is handwritten in silver marker on the knob and in black marker on the top barrel. Cangelosi signed his name in black marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18917) for the game use. The final bat was used by Orlando Miller during the 1994-96 seasons. Miller’s Louisville Slugger C271 model bat displays heavy game use and has a crack on the handle. Miller’s number “24” is handwritten in silver marker on the knob. Miller has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B18916) for the game use. This entire lot comes with a JSA Auction Letter for the signatures.
