The Hall of Famer, peerless slugger, and American icon Lou Gehrig has signed this 3 x 5-inch card featuring a die cut image of the massive first baseman. “The Iron Horse” is pictured in his Yankees pinstripes, loading his powerful swing with his weight shifting forward gracefully. A six-time World Series winner, Gehrig won the American League MVP trophy in 1927 and 1936 while anchoring the greatest lineup in the history of baseball next to Babe Ruth. In 1932, Gehrig became the first player in the 20th century to collect four home runs in a single game as a part of his fantastic .349/34/151 campaign with 108 walks against 38 strikeouts. Gehrig’s statistics defy belief, with 1,190 of his 2,721 career hits going for extra bases. The tragic circumstances of Gehrig’s death are a part of American folklore, and the seminal Yankee was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1939 to honor his immense contribution to the game of baseball. Gehrig has signed this pristine 3 x 5-inch card in pencil. This historic autograph has been encapsulated and graded a perfect GEM MINT 10 by Beckett Authentication Services.
