Lou has signed the ball in blue fountain pen and inscribed “To Katie may She Always Be The Same Best Wishes”. The Charles C. Carr blue and red stitched Western league ball has the facsimile signature of Dale D. Gear. Gear was president of the Western League from 1926 to 1935 so this ball dates to those years. The ball has a very light amount of toning to it and there is some scuffing throughout. There is a larger stain that is on the stamped signature of Gear on the panel above the Gehrig inscription.
